This Horsetail often does not have branches or leaves. It has many vertical ridges and up to 50 tiny teeth at joints. The wide white band with black bands above and below are characteristic. The upper dark bands on the fertile stems have tiny sharp leaflets that are quickly shed. One of our most primitive plants.
