Violet Dog

Viola conspersa

The Dog Violet has lateral petals bearded with a shorter and heavier spur than the Long Stemmed Violet. Its main stem bears leaves and flowers. The petals are pale violet. Lower leaves are rounded. Upper leaves slightly pointed. Sepals are lightly toothed. Similar to the Long Spurred Violet which has a prominent vertical spur, beardless petals and more pointed leaves.
